I love pigs and I find myself drawing a pig or two each week. I took my favorite two and matched them up to be a set on kitchen dish towels. I chose parakeet blue threads, from Coats Tru-Lock brand, for the first batch. I can make these in any color thread I have on hand though, and I think they would look especially cute in red!

The next designs are the “freckles”. I just think all my drawings look so much cuter with freckles. I have an owl, a mouse and a cat. The cat design has been sort of a struggle to digitize and should be coming along here in the next week. But for today we see the owl and mouse. Both in brown, Serger Maxi-Lock threads.

And last but not least, the anthro, “Eat your veggies!”mushroom hand towels, in chartreuse and brown and red and pink for Valentines.

A while back I bought a super large quantity of molds, a kiln, mixer and other ceramic stuff. I had no where to put most of it, but I knew I would need it all soon. A bunch of the molds weigh in at over 100 lbs each, so those we kept under the carport. The rest were medium to large sized and we stacked those onto 3 wooden fence panels in the backyard. Then we tarped them and along came the rain. The tarp had water all over it and made it too heavy and messy to lift off, and snakes decided to move in! So the molds sat there out in the weather for a few months. Over the holidays we moved to a much needed bigger space. I now have a 2 car garage ceramic studio that holds everything. And I am finally able to sort through and see what molds I do have.
I was about to toss this one mold because it was so old and falling apart, and when I looked inside I found this treasure. A beautiful atomic 60’s ash tray. The inside looked ruined as well, but I went for it. I poured the slip in and waited and waited and when it was ready, wow!

I have a bunch of smoothing to do on the final piece, but it is worth it! I love this piece. And I love pouring new things. There is a special excitement, a joy, that comes when you open a mold of a new item for the first time.
The next mold I found was this awesome 70’s trinket box. It has a funky psychedelic design on the lid. I thought it was perfect as is, but would be even more perfect with these super cute forest animals I had. They are from a 1960’s mold and I use a couple of them on the tart warmers I do. So after waiting for what seemed like an eternity for all the molds to set, they were done at last and I cast one of each animal on top of each lid. Here they are forest animal trinket boxes!

Everything is listed over at my Etsy shop, click here to check them out!

Been working in Illustrator today. I’m coming up with new embroidery patch, tea towel and ceramic vase designs. After making several new squirrel and owl tart warmers, I decided to draw a squirrel!
Here’s the new ceramic tart warmers in solid white.

Monday is usually my big blog day but I have been pretty busy these past 3 weeks and haven’t made a real post. So, I figured I would share a work in progress.
This is my new bird and cat vase. It is is in the greenware stage and is very fragile. It still needs two more coats of detail paint. Then it will be fired, glazed and fired again. I have all sorts of new items to be listed soon including hippo planters, skull and cross bone bowls and vases. I hope to have everything fired by the end of the week.
Well time to get back to work, see ya soon!
